Sting breaks silence on P Diddy legal woes after rapper’s arrest: ‘I don’t know what went on’

Sting has spoken out on P Diddy’s ongoing legal woes after the rapper was arrested in September on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution

Sting has confessed that regardless of the accusations against Sean “Diddy'” Combs, it won’t impact his song that the rapper sampled. Diddy famously bagged his first Grammy Award for his track I’ll Be Missing You, a tribute to his late friend The Notorious B.I. G., who was tragically shot and killed. The heartfelt single sampled The Police’s hit Every Breath You Take, which had already gained massive popularity among music fans since its 1983 release.

Diddy later used the track for his 1998 single, which became a massive global commercial success. Now, Sting has confessed that nothing has spoiled the song for him, even after Diddy was arrested and charged with a series of serious crimes.

In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Sting said: “I don’t know what went on [with Diddy] … But it doesn’t taint the song at all for me. It’s still my song,” reports the Mirror.

Diddy’s version, penned by Sauce Money, topped the Billboard charts for 11 consecutive weeks and won the Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group Grammy alongside Faith Evans, who also featured on the track. This news follows claims by a former model that those once close to Combs will be “worried about their careers” amid the rapper’s legal troubles.

Diddy, 55, was arrested in New York in September on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Diddy has fiercely rejected all claims made against him and entered a not guilty plea in the courtroom. While he awaits his federal trial, the creator of Bad Boy Records is also facing a barrage of civil suits brought by Texas lawyer Tony Buzbee.

These civil actions accuse him of rape, sexual misconduct, and assault, accusations that Diddy has categorically denied. Now, ex-Playboy Bunny Precious Muir, who was a guest at Diddy’s early 2000s soirees, has hinted that stars might shy away from him due to the current controversy.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror US, Precious remarked: “Knowing who attended these parties, they probably are concerned about their careers. What effects will it have directly on their careers now? And you just don’t wanna be linked to Diddy. Even the people in his inner circle are kind of shifting and spreading.”

It should be noted that no other celebrities have been implicated in any misconduct in the legal actions against Diddy or in the federal allegations. Precious herself did not make any accusations of wrongdoing.
