Chloe Kitts is having a breakout season for the South Carolina Gamecocks. Kitts’ 11.2 points per game is second on the team while her 8.8 rebounds per contest is the best in the lineup. The forward looks to get better as the season progresses.

Kitts went on Instagram to share gameday photos and captioned the collection:

“sum to prove🗣️”

Former Gamecocks superstars Kamilla Cardoso and Aliyah Boston reacted to the post. The Brazilian wrote:

“yeahhh 21 ❤️”

The Chicago Sky center added fire emojis to emphasize what she meant with her reaction. Meanwhile, Boston commented:

“And you proving it‼️‼️”

Boston was South Carolina’s biggest star when she led the Gamecocks to the championship in 2022. When she left for the WNBA, it was Cardoso’s turn to carry the team. The 6-foot-7 center, with Kitts on the roster, guided the team to the 2024 title. The reactions from both Gamecocks legends to Kitts’ IG post must hold special significance for Dawn Staley’s prized junior.

Kitts’ performance this season has helped the Gamecocks to a 9-1 record. They suffered an upset 77-62 loss to UCLA on Nov. 24 but bounced back with four straight wins. In their last game, Kitts and Co. walloped No. 9 TCU Horned Frogs 85-52 in a highly anticipated matchup.

Chloe Kitts can prove herself in South Carolina’s long season

Following the blowout win over the Horned Frogs, the South Carolina Gamecocks still have 20 games left this season. If Chloe Kitts has “sum to prove,” she will have to do it in her school’s repeat bid.

The Gamecocks’ most intriguing games begin in January, starting with a matchup against No. 6 Texas. In the nine days following their tussle with the Longhorns, they will face No. 10 Oklahoma before squaring off against No. 4 LSU.

Chloe Kitts’ impressive start will be tested against these teams looking to dethrone them. Indeed, four days after battling the LSU Tigers, they also visit Tennessee for a showdown against the Volunteers.

February will be crucial as well. A rematch with the Longhorns in Texas will be highly anticipated. Midway through the month, they will face arguably their biggest test when South Carolina hosts Paige Bueckers and the UConn Huskies.

If she stays healthy, Kitts will have more than her fair share of opportunities to prove herself.
