Kate Martin Makes Her MVP Pick for Unrivaled Crystal Clear

Golden State Valkyries guard Kate Martin has no doubt in her mind who deserves to win MVP in the inaugural season of Unrivaled.

As the regular season of Unrivaled’s first installment nears its end, talks about who should win the best player award are starting to heat up. With that, Laces BC have started to campaign for its top player, Kayla McBride, to win the honor.

On Instagram, the team shared a post to promote McBride and encourage fans to vote for her. According to Unrivaled, the MVP will be determined via the votes of “fans, media, Unrivaled coaches and players.”

“McBride for MVP… #NUFFSAID,” Laces BC wrote in the caption of their post, along with an edited photo of McBride that shows comments on how she’s playing at an MVP level in Urivaled.

“Make sure to vote for Kayla McBride for Unrivaled’s MVP presented by @millerlite.”

Martin, for her part, showed her support for her Laces BC teammate by commenting, “My MVP.”

While Kate Martin may have some bias considering that she’s part of Laces BC and teammates with Kayla McBride, there’s no denying that the 32-year-old Minnesota Lynx player deserves to be in the conversation for the top individual honor in the 3-on-3 league.

McBride is actually second in Unrivaled in scoring, averaging 22.5 points, just behind Napheesa Collier (26.3 points). McBride is also averaging 6.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

With McBride leading the way, the Laces have tallied a 5-7 record with two games left on the season. They are in contention for a playoff spot, and if they do make the postseason, it should only strengthen McBride’s MVP case.
