The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon posted a clip from the episode where Matthew Tkachuk opens up about playing with his brother and how his father had gotten emotional. While he might have expected praises from his fans, the reaction has been completely opposite.
A fan wrote, “Huge a**hole just like his dad. It’s crazy that Brady is from the same family. He’s an angel”, while another fan wrote, “Just always trying to get in the spotlight. Such a fame catcher. Hey Jimmy you only interview the losers?”
A third fan wrote, “Giving a platform to a guy who’s known to hurt players is just dumb. Jimmy, I expected better”. Another user wrote, “So c**ky!!! Why don’t you have a real hockey player on instead .. Sidney Crosby!!!”
However, some fans have also supported Matthew Tkachuk. A fan wrote, “Winning the Stanley Cup is bigger than anything.
The 4 Nations Cup final became more political. Who would have that that three fights in the first 9 seconds would have grown the sport more than anyone could’ve imagined. Hockey truly is, the greatest game on the planet.”
Matthew Tkachuk also spoke about Team USA losing at the 4 Nations Face Off and said, “I truly believe in our team. We got so close with this tournament, looking at next year being a chance at redemption. I truly believe in our chances. Wearing the USA crest there’s nothing like it — we have so much pride in it, and we’ll be ready to go.”
Matthew Tkachuk has yet to react to the criticism he has received for his appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.
