Matthew Tkachuk brutally mocks Connor McDavid during Cup celebration.
Matthew Tkachuk mocks Connor McDavid in front of a huge crowd of people.
There is clearly no love between the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers and, if there had been any at any point in time, a pair of back to back meetings in the Stanley Cup Final have without a doubt cemented the hatred between these two groups of players.
Over the course of the past week we have seen some examples of this seep out during the Panthers Stanley Cup celebrations, but there was perhaps no better example than the one that came from Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk. In a video that is quickly making the rounds on social media, Tkachuk can be seen ridiculing his opponent in an entirely unprompted moment that is sure to light a fire under the Edmonton Oilers.

In the video Tkachuk can be seen grabbing the microphone in what seemed like an entirely unscripted moment, with Tkachuk yelling into the microphone to mock Oilers captain Connor Mcdavid.
“Connor McDavid who?” exclaimed Tkachuk, causing the crowd to erupt in cheers.
Tkachuk, who was wearing a championship belt around his waist in the video, was soaking it all in throwing his hands up in the air in a victory pose as the crowd erupted into chants of “F*** McDavid” in response to his comment.
Tkachuk was surrounded by teammates who also seemed to be enjoying the moment, yet another sign of the genuine animosity that has built up between these two teams over the course of the last two Stanley Cup Finals.
While it probably isn’t something that will go over particularly well in the Oilers locker room or in the City of Edmonton for that matter, it is more fuel being poured onto the fire of what has quickly become one of the most intense rivalries in the National Hockey League.
