Michael Madsen, the legendary Hollywood actor renowned for his performances in Quentin Tarantino films, has passed away at the age of 67.
As reported by his publicist Liz Rodriguez, Madsen was discovered unresponsive at his residence in Malibu after suffering a heart collapse.
Emergency personnel declared him dead at 8:25 AM, with no indications of foul play—his passing is thought to be due to natural causes.
In a joint statement, Madsen’s managers Susan Ferris and Ron Smith highlighted that the actor had been significantly engaged in independent film projects in recent years, with forthcoming roles in Resurrection Road, Concessions, and Cookbook for Southern Housewives.
He was also on the verge of publishing a new book titled Tears For My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems.
Madsen gained prominence through his unforgettable collaborations with Quentin Tarantino in films such as Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill: Vol. 2, The Hateful Eight, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
His portrayal in Reservoir Dogs received particular acclaim, with critic Roger Ebert acknowledging his intimidating screen presence.
In addition to film, Madsen featured in Sin City, Free Willy, Thelma & Louise, and various television roles, while also providing his voice for video games like Grand Theft Auto and Dishonored.
Tributes have flooded in from all corners of Hollywood, including one from Captain America co-director Joe Russo, who tweeted, “Michael Madsen ALWAYS had bite. RIP.”
