When his Kansas City Chiefs took the field last Saturday, Patrick Mahomes looked perfectly fine as they took on the Houston Texans.
Despite suffering a high ankle sprain just days earlier, Mahomes looked like a man who was perfectly fine.
Heading into Kansas City’s Christmas Day clash with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mahomes said his ankle was feeling even better.
He certainly showed that with his performance against Pittsburgh.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes threw for 320 yards and three touchdowns in a 29-10 victory against the Steelers.
He was playing so well that fans began to take to social media and call him out for never actually having an ankle injury.
“Breaking news: patrick mahomes injury was fake,” a second fan announced.
A third fan brought up Tom Brady: “This Mahomes ankle injury is fake. Brady would never do that.”
“Mahomes breaking out the fake injury way earlier than usual 😂,” another X user added.
“Tired of hearing about Mahomes fake ass ankle injury,” a fifth fan boldly added.
One final fan added: “Its crazy how they were actually able to twist his ankle on video, but not too much to actually hurt it. And then how he spent hours at the facility rehabbing the fake injury. True commitment to the bit from kc to the browns to mahomes to the training staff.”
Patrick Mahomes Leads Team To Another Bye Week & Home-Field Advantage
The Kansas City Chiefs will be home for the playoffs.
Patrick Mahomes led his team to a 29-10 blowout win over the Steelers in Pittsburgh, securing the AFC’s top seed in the process.
This means the team gets a first-round bye, something the Chiefs will need before gearing up for the chance at a three-peat.
