Paul Bissonnette called out Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand during Tuesday’s “Spittin’ Chiclets” podcast episode. This was in response to Marchand referencing Bissonnette’s Nov. 26 altercation with a group of men at Houston’s restaurant in Phoenix, Arizona.
Sharing a clip on X, Bissonnette tweeted:
“Repeat offender. Marchand needs to be stopped. #nhlbruins 🐀🐀🐀.”
The exchange started when Bissonnette complimented Marchand’s hair during an “NHL on TNT” broadcast.
“Brad Biz here again. I know my first one was a little boring, but did one of those offseason surgeries include a Turkish hair transplant?” Bissonnette said. “You’re looking a little less thin up top. It looks great.”
Marchand fired back, saying:
“No, bud. I just try to look like those guys who beat the wheels off you the other day.”
On the podcast, Bissonnette talked about Marchand’s response.
“That dwarf is going down,” he said, referring to Marchand’s knack for chirping. “He should be worrying about the Boston Bruins’ power play, not about me. Coming in with premeditated chirps … I keep hearing about how resilient he is, battling through all these offseason injuries and having 14 f***ing surgeries. So I come back with a compliment. And what does he come back with?…”
Bissonnette didn’t let up. He mentioned Marchand’s past antics, including his infamous face-licking moments.
“Like, come on, I’m calling for a league suspension,” he said. “I already talked to George Parros. I think they’re going to throw the book at him this time. This guy is a repeat offender. I mean, the guy’s licking people’s faces, and now he wants to come at me with the torpedo elbow right to the dome.”
Paul Bissonnette was involved in an altercation with a group of people last month
On Nov. 26, Paul Bissonnette stepped in to help restaurant staff at Houston’s after a group of men caused trouble. The group, linked to an Irish scam gang, attacked him outside near a CVS. Bissonnette defended himself briefly but escaped inside. Police arrested the suspects and discovered fake businesses and addresses. They also found out the group had attacked Raven Golf Club earlier.
Bissonnette believes they acted aggressively and may have used drugs. He praised the restaurant staff and first responders for their professionalism and said he wanted to hold the attackers accountable.
