However, his mixed heritage often left him questioning his place in a society still grappling with racial tensions. The 1970s were tumultuous, and at the age of seven, Taimak’s family relocated to London to escape racial violence in America. His mother opened the first soul food restaurant in the city, which became a gathering spot for artists. Yet, when Taimak was ten, his parents separated, leading to a further split in the family. He moved to Italy with his father while his mother took his younger sisters to Paris. Despite having no formal acting training, Taimak’s authenticity and presence won him the role of Leroy Green, also known as Bruce Leroy.
