☣️ The Parasite of Arrogance: The Millionaire’s Final Experiment
The mansion was silent save for his ragged breathing. He, the millionaire, sat trembling in his silk robe, hands pressed desperately to his head. For days, the itching hadn’t stopped; it only grew worse. He had dismissed it as bugs, maybe an infection, or worse, madness. But when he ran his fingers across his scalp, he felt small bumps rising, pulsing, spreading. His heart pounded as he looked in the mirror, watching his reflection twist with primal fear.
“Maria!” he shouted, his voice cracking.
The maid rushed in, startled. He pointed to his head. “Tell me I’m not crazy. Please tell me you see them, too.”
Maria, hesitant but worried, stepped closer. At first, she thought it was a rash, but then she saw it clearly: the bumps weren’t still. They were moving. Something shifted under the skin, slow and horrifyingly alive. Her eyes widened. She stumbled back, gasping, and let out a shriek because what she saw wasn’t insects crawling on him. They were crawling inside him.

The Descent into Horror
He sat motionless, surrounded by proof of a life well-lived—stacks of money, gold watches, diamond rings. Yet, none of it mattered. He could feel them again, wriggling beneath his skin. The mirror reflected not a millionaire, but a man losing his mind, the veins on his scalp bulging like tangled wires.
“God, what is that?” he whispered, leaning closer to the mirror, seeing something thin and black slither just beneath the surface, tracing a line toward his temple. He screamed and backed away, shattering a lamp.
“Get it out!” he shouted, his voice desperate. Maria rushed to hold him still, but his body shook uncontrollably as the crawling sensation spread down his neck.
“It’s too late,” he whispered, eyes full of terror. “They’re everywhere.”
Maria forced herself to stay calm. “What do you mean, ‘everywhere’?”
He pointed weakly toward a desk drawer. She pulled it open, revealing dozens of unlabeled bottles. “An experiment,” he murmured hoarsely. “They said it would make me stronger, sharper. I didn’t know it would do this.”
He had tampered with his own biology, seeking perfection, and the healing had turned into horror. The bumps grew larger, pulsing in rhythm with his heart. Then, with a final scream, something broke through the surface.
A drop of blood rolled down his scalp. A small, circular wound appeared. From inside, something black and glistening twitched and began to move.
The Fire and the Aftermath
Maria shrieked, stumbling backward as the dark, wormlike shape slid out onto the polished wooden floor. The millionaire, trembling, cried: “Kill it!” Maria grabbed the broken lamp and smashed it down hard. The creature writhed and sizzled.
But both of them were tragically wrong about the end. As Maria looked closer, she saw movement again—beneath his neck, dozens of small, pulsing bumps, forming in perfect rhythm. The nightmare had only just begun.
The millionaire collapsed, screaming: “They’re in my blood now!” Black veins crawled down his arms, branching like roots. He begged Maria not to let them take him.
Maria, desperate, grabbed a lighter and alcohol. Her hands trembled as she whispered a prayer. Then she threw the lighter. Flames erupted, crawling across the carpet. The tiny black creatures screeched, curling and blackening in the fire. The millionaire screamed, pain and fear mixing into one final, agonizing cry.
The fire spread fast, turning the mansion into a haunting orange glow.
Hours later, after the flames died, investigators entered the ruins. They found the millionaire’s body near his desk. Around the charred remains, the floor was covered in strange black ash, small circular patterns like nests.
One investigator, leaning closer, saw something twitch beneath the ash. A faint, wet sound. He stumbled back, pale as death. The fire hadn’t killed the creatures; it had set them free. Dozens of tiny shapes began to crawl from the charred floor.
The Warning of Greed
Maria watched from a distance, carried out by paramedics, repeating: “I had to do it. I had to.” She knew the fire hadn’t killed the monsters; it had unleashed them.
The millionaire thought money could buy him control over life, even over his own body. But when you tamper with nature, nature always takes its revenge. His arrogance, his pursuit of perfection through unnatural means, had led him to become the host of his own destruction.
Maria learned a truth she would never forget: that monsters aren’t always born in darkness; sometimes they’re created by human hands. The tragedy was not just the loss of the fortune or the man, but the chilling realization that some nightmares begin inside, where greed begins to crawl.
