Joy Behar calls out CNN’s Jake Tapper, slams host over Donald Trump hypocrisy: ‘Says nothing’

“The View” cohosts discussed Donald Trump’s recent confusion over a cognitive test that he said was a “very hard” IQ test.

Jake Tapper caught a stray from Joy Behar during The View cohost’s criticism of Donald Trump’s recent confusion over a cognitive test the president said was actually a “very hard” IQ test.

Amid the panel reacting Wednesday morning to 79-year-old Trump’s assertion during an Air Force One briefing that he took recent “aptitude tests” and got an MRI at Walter Reed medical center, Behar raised concerns over what she suggested is hypocrisy on the part of select media covering Trump’s mental acuity.

“I’d like to know why Jake Tapper, who wrote an entire book about [Joe] Biden’s cognitive abilities, and says nothing and writes nothing about this guy,” the 83-year-old said of the CNN star from the Hot Topics table.

When reached for comment, a CNN spokesperson declined to comment on Behar’s remarks. Tapper has, however, spoken with Dr. Sanjay Gupta several times on the air about speculation over Trump’s health.

Though Behar didn’t name the title specifically, Tapper and Alex Thompson released a book in May titled Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again, which probed an alleged cover-up related to Biden’s mental acuity in the run-up to the 2024 presidential election.

Biden famously dropped out of the race following public calls from high-profile Democrats — including George Clooney — to do so following his disastrous debate performance against Trump in June 2024.

Such calls move were staunchly opposed by Behar and Whoopi Goldberg, with the former openly slamming Clooney on The View.

“George Clooney wrote an op-ed piece in the New York Times claiming that after he saw Biden’s condition at the recent fundraiser, he doesn’t think he’s up for the gig. George Clooney? Couldn’t he tell him that in person, for god’s sakes?” Goldberg said, while Behar added that she was “mad at George Clooney right now” amid the development.

Additionally, on Wednesday’s episode of The View, Sunny Hostin observed that, “By the way, they say that toddlers have passed this with a perfect score, so I don’t think it’s something he should brag about,” with regard to Trump’s cognitive test.

Sara Haines added that “the scientist who designed it said this is in no way an indication of IQ, because it’s a cognitive ability test. So it kind of tells you his cognitive abilities — that he screwed that up.”

During his Air Force One briefing, Trump also lashed out at Reps. Jasmine Crockett and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, calling them “low IQ” people — claims that both have since responded to.

“Out of curiosity, did those doctors ask you to draw a clock, by any chance?” Ocasio-Cortez wrote on X. “Was that part hard for you, too? Asking for 340 million people.”
