It’s now or never for the Golden State Warriors to make a potential trade for Jimmy Butler.

 

Following a brief two-game winning streak, the Golden State Warriors were given a brutal reality check as they were destroyed by the Sacramento Kings in their recent matchup.

The Warriors suffered a 30-point blowout defeat, even with Stephen Curry returning to the roster. Curry’s 26-point performance was overshadowed by the Kings.

Coming to other players of the Dubs, the team felt the absence of star forward Jonathan Kuminga on both ends of the floor.

Kuminga suffered a right ankle sprain against the Memphis Grizzlies and was escorted back to the locker room. It was a tough blow to the young star as he was playing the best basketball of the season.

While the Dubs prayed for Kuminga’s speedy recovery, Anthony Slater revealed that the 22-year-old will be out for at least three weeks before getting re-evaluated.

“I just don’t want to be off. I want to be playing. I feel like our team had started taking off in the right direction,” Kuminga said about his injury.

So, what’s next for the Warriors after falling to an 18-17 record and Kuminga out for a considerable amount of time? Well, they could take the trade route.

Over the past few weeks, the Jimmy Butler trade saga has reached one conclusion: The 35-year-old star wants out. There are a plethora of reasons behind his unhappiness with the team, but they all point to Butler getting traded.

Keeping that in mind, the Warriors could swoop in with a trade proposal. Of course, it would be required to include Kuminga in the deal.

Previously, it was reported that the Dubs had no plan to acquire Butler at the expense of Kuminga, but his recent injury could change their stance.

After all, with Kuminga all set to miss the next 11 games of the season, the Warriors could be out of title contention in the stretch.

Someone of Butler’s caliber and experience could give them a much-needed uplift during this tough time and ultimately force the Dubs to enter a win-now mode.
