Brittany Mahomes says she ‘doesn’t give a f***’ what people think of her amid public support for Donald Trump

Brittany Mahomes has revealed how husband Patrick has taught her to ignore social media trolls amid controversy over her public support of Donald Trump.

Mahomes has liked multiple posts on social media over the last week supporting Donald Trump in the upcoming election – a position seemingly at odds with her new best friend Taylor Swift, who is dating Patrick’s Kansas City Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce.

Now, in an interview on the WHOOP podcast, Brittany has credited Patrick with helping her block out any criticism she receives online amid her growing fame.

‘He is very good at blocking people out so having him beside has helped,’ she said. ‘The main thing he always told me is to stop caring what people think – especially the people that don’t even know you.

‘I think social media used to get to me a lot. Now, it’s just like, honestly, I don’t give a f*** what people have to say about me anymore. And I think he has helped me get to that point.

‘I am strong in who I am. I am confident in who I am. I confident in mine and his relationship and I am confident in our lives. So why does what other people say have to matter at all?’

Brittany admits that she had to learn this from Patrick, who benefitted from being the son of a professional athlete in retired Minnesota Twins and New York Mets reliever Pat Mahomes Sr.

‘He is a lot better at it than I am, maybe because his dad played professional sports,’ she said. ‘I think he was around it and he understood it a lot more than I did.

‘So having him to help me get through it has helped a lot because he’s very good at managing those things.’

On Wednesday, Brittany liked comments on her latest Instagram post calling for Trump to win the election and supporting her for airing her views publicly.

And earlier this week Brittany, a pregnant mother of two, re-posted a comment from preacher and author Shane Pruitt that appeared to be a response against backlash against her.

‘Contrary to the tone of the world today…’ the post begins. ‘You can disagree with someone, and still love them. You can have differing views, and still be kind.’

Her husband Patrick has never publicly declared his own political views but Swift said in 2019 that she wanted Hilary Clinton to win the 2016 election over Trump.

Patrick and Brittany have grown close to Travis and Taylor since the singer began dating Kelce last September.

They were on vacation together in Amsterdam during the offseason, where Swift was on tour, and both are expected to be at the Chiefs’ opening NFL game next Thursday against Baltimore Ravens.

And they spent time together in Rhode Island this weekend, as Kelce and Swift reunited after her four-month tour of Europe.

The Chiefs are lining up a shot at NFL history this season – they could become the first team ever to win three straight Super Bowl titles.
