Neymar’s response to claims he tried to get Al Hilal head coach sacked following ‘dressing room fight’
Neymar once had to publicly address rumours that he tried to get Al Hilal manager Jorge Jesus sacked.
Back in the summer of 2023, Neymar was one of many high-profile players who ditched European football for the Saudi Professional League.
The Brazilian completed his move from Paris Saint Germain to Al Hilal for a reported fee of €90 million.
A few months after joining the Saudi Arabian club, reports claimed that Neymar wanted the club to sack manager Jesus after a dressing room altercation.
According to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, Neymar demanded the club dismiss Jesus after he was harshly reprimanded for his below-par performance and bad attitude.
The report also claimed that club directors met with Jesus’ agent at the time to warn him of the possibility of terminating the coach’s contract if Al Hilal’s performance did not improve.
On the back of those claims, Neymar took to social media to respond, he wrote: “Lies… Y’all got to stop believing these things, pages like this… with millions of followers you can’t keep posting fake news! With all due respect in the world, I ask you to stop this. This is a lot of disrespect.”
Prior to making a move to Saudi Arabia, Neymar played for the likes of Santos, Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain.
The forward enjoyed his biggest successes during his time at the Parc des Princes, winning five Ligue 1 titles, three Coupe de France trophies, two Coupe de la Ligue titles and three Trophees des Champions.
On the international stage, Neymar has been capped 128 times by Brazil, scoring 79 goals. He was also part of the squad which won the gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Neymar Denies Claims of Dressing Room Conflict and Coach Dismissal
Neymar Jr., the Brazilian football superstar, recently addressed rumors that he had instigated the dismissal of Al-Hilal manager Jorge Jesus following a heated dressing room argument. These reports emerged in the summer of 2023, shortly after Neymar’s high-profile move from Paris Saint-Germain to the Saudi Pro League club.
The allegations suggested that Neymar’s poor performance and attitude had led to a confrontation with Jesus, culminating in a demand for the coach’s dismissal. However, Neymar vehemently denied these claims on social media, stating that the reports were “fake news” and expressing his frustration with the spread of misinformation.
Neymar’s move to Al-Hilal was part of a broader trend of high-profile European players joining the Saudi Pro League. The league’s increasing financial power and ambition have attracted numerous top-tier talents, including Karim Benzema, Roberto Firmino, and Riyad Mahrez.
Despite the controversy surrounding his time at Al-Hilal, Neymar remains one of the most recognizable and talented footballers in the world. His illustrious career has seen him represent Santos, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain, winning numerous domestic and international titles. With the Brazilian national team, Neymar has made significant contributions, including a gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Neymar’s Controversial Move to Saudi Arabia
Neymar Jr.’s transfer to Al-Hilal in 2023 marked a significant shift in his career trajectory. The move to the Saudi Pro League, fueled by substantial financial incentives, raised eyebrows and sparked debates about the future of football.
While the transfer generated considerable buzz, it was not without its controversies. Reports emerged of tensions between Neymar and Al-Hilal’s then-manager, Jorge Jesus. Allegations surfaced that Neymar had demanded the club to sack Jesus following a dressing room disagreement. However, Neymar vehemently denied these claims, asserting that the reports were unfounded and disrespectful.
Despite the off-field drama, Neymar’s impact on the pitch has been undeniable. He has quickly established himself as one of the league’s top players, showcasing his exceptional skills and flair. However, his move to Saudi Arabia has also ignited discussions about the future of football and the balance between financial incentives and sporting ambition.
As Neymar continues his journey in Saudi Arabia, his every move is closely watched by fans around the world. Whether he can maintain his high standards and contribute to Al-Hilal’s success remains to be seen.
