Michelle Obama finally opens up on the darkest years of her marriage with Barack Obama… and what saved it
“For the first 10 years of my marriage, I honestly didn’t love Barack the way I should. Our love started fading when the kids came. I was at home changing diapers, stressing, sacrificing, while he was always busy, always out… and I started resenting him. He became my biggest enemy.”

Michelle Obama Continues Her Winning New-Chanel Streak

This year, Michelle Obama has been delivering one striking fashion win after the next. Throughout 2025, the former First Lady has been busy promoting her new book, The Look, which traces her style evolution from her pre- to post-White House days. She and stylist-co-writer Meredith Koop have treated every book signing or panel appearance as an opportunity to deliver a memorable moment. Obama is continuing her marathon of stylish looks—entering the festive holiday season with verve and sparkle.
New portraits of the former politician shared by photographer Miles Diggs (known as Diggzy) show Obama wearing a red tweed dress with fun fringing along the top. (Perfect for any holiday party, or to wear on Christmas Day itself.) It’s a Chanel design from still-new designer Matthieu Blazy—specifically, look 61 from his highly-acclaimed spring 2026 debut. She accessorized the statement frock perfectly, with a classic pair of cap-toe pumps. (The Chanel shoe.)

Of course, this is not the first highly-coveted runway look that Obama has worn in the last little while. Obama has donned some sleek suits from Blazy at Chanel, as well as a colorful dress from Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez’s Loewe debut. There has simply been no runway look too in-demand or buzzy for Obama to get her hands on. And why wouldn’t she? As one of the most well-dressed first ladies in White House history, it is only natural that Obama is bringing her signature elegance to her fashion-forward book’s press tour.

As the year is coming to a close, dare we say we are getting sentimental about the book tour ending? Does this mean we will no longer see Mrs. Michelle Obama slipping into such fresh-off-the-runway creations? Judging by her well-executed 2025 wardrobe, something tells us we will be seeing more of her sartorial offerings come January 1. And to that we say: Bring on the fashion. She does, after all, have tons of new designer debuts to sport and style up. Come 2026, will she slip into some Meryll Rogge for Marni? Antonin Tron for Balmain? Only time will tell.
