The 2024 NFL regular season is officially in the books.
The Kansas City Chiefs finished with the best record in the AFC at 15-2, earning the No. 1 seed and the first-round bye week that comes with it. Here’s how the rest of the playoff field in the conference shook out:
No. 2 seed: Buffalo Bills
No. 3 seed: Baltimore Ravens
No. 4 seed: Houston Texans
No. 5 seed: Los Angeles Chargers
No. 6 seed: Pittsburgh Steelers
No. 7 seed: Denver Broncos

The Chiefs played all six other AFC playoff teams during the regular season, going 6-2 against them. One of the losses came from the Bills by a score of 30-21 in Week 11. The other loss was to Denver in Week 18, but it comes with an asterisk as Kansas City rested most of it’s starters with the No. 1 seed already locked up.
The Chiefs beat the Broncos 16-14 back in Week 10, which featured the memorable ending of K.C. linebacker Leo Chenal blocking Denver’s game-winning field goal attempt as time expired. K.C. swept the season series against the Chargers, and have beaten the Texans and Steelers in recent weeks.
The Chiefs defeated the Ravens way back in Week 1 in another exciting finish, as Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely barely missed getting a toe down in bounds for a touchdown catch on what would have put Baltimore in position to either tie or win the game as time expired.
K.C. will host the lowest remaining seed in the divisional round. Matchups against the Bills and Ravens are impossible that week no matter how the games play out, leaving the Broncos, Steelers, Texans, and Chargers as the options. The Chiefs have never lost in the divisional round with Patrick Mahomes as the starting quarterback, and will look to head to their eighth consecutive AFC Championship game.
