BREAKING: Angel Reese and Chennedy Carter face additional penalties for fouling Caitlin Clark

Angel Reese and Chennedy Carter Receive Additional Punishment for Fouling Caitlin Clark in Her Rookie WNBA Season

The WNBA has announced additional penalties for Chicago Sky players Angel Reese and Chennedy Carter following their fouls on Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark during her first professional season. In a decision that has sparked intense debate, Carter has been fined $30, while Reese has been handed a 5-game suspension.

Caitlin Clark, one of the most highly anticipated rookies in WNBA history, has found herself at the center of numerous heated on-court moments this season. The physical play against her reached a boiling point when Chennedy Carter delivered an aggressive off-ball shove to Clark during a Sky vs. Fever matchup. The play was initially called a common foul but quickly became a viral topic, with many questioning whether Clark was being unfairly targeted due to her popularity.

Angel Reese, a dominant force for the Sky, also had a history of chippy moments with Clark, dating back to their college days when LSU faced Iowa in high-profile matchups. Her foul in a separate game against Clark has now been met with a severe consequence, as the WNBA issued a 5-game suspension.

A $30 Fine and a Suspension—Fair or Controversial?

The penalties have raised eyebrows, not only due to the delayed timing of the league’s decision but also because of the stark contrast between Carter’s minimal fine and Reese’s multi-game suspension. The $30 fine issued to Carter has been widely mocked online, with many calling it “laughable” and “meaningless.”

However, the real shocker is Reese’s 5-game suspension, which signals a stronger stance by the WNBA on physical play against Clark. While some fans argue that Reese’s physicality is part of the competitive nature of the league, others believe the suspension is a message from the WNBA aimed at protecting its rising star.

“Why such a severe suspension for Reese, but only a $30 fine for Carter?” one fan questioned on social media. “This feels inconsistent.”

Meanwhile, supporters of Reese argue that she is being unfairly targeted due to the ongoing media attention surrounding Clark. They believe that physical play has always been a part of the WNBA and that punishing Reese so harshly sets a dangerous precedent.

Kevin Durant and Angel Reese are now back in the headlines. He has sparked dating rumors after he gave her a shoutout during a pregame Q&A.

As per TMZ the NBA is honoring women all month in honor of Women’s History Month. The Phoenix Suns specifically asked each of their players who their favorite female athlete of all time as they walked into the stadium. As expected Serena Williams was one of the most popular responses but when Kevin Durant was asked he simply responded “Angel Reese.”

His choice for female GOAT athlete is rather interesting as the two have been romantically linked in the past. Last summer they were seated together at a Team USA women’s basketball exhibition game which led to speculation that they most likely romantically involved. Angel Reese soon put a stop to the hearsay on her Unapologetically Angel podcast and formally denied that she was dating Kevin Durant.

Nevertheless Kevin’s answer has already went viral prompting folks online to speculate on the real reason for KD shouting out Angel. “KD knew what he was doing,” one user wrote on Instagram. Another fan added “We know what KD on.” Another individual joked “KD shootin his shot and Angel gonna grab that board and put it back up… Then grab that board and put it back up… then grab that board and kick it out.”
