It’s been a big year for Taylor Swift, but she will not cap it off with a Super Bowl Halftime Show performance after turning down the opportunity.
It’s now known that Bad Bunny will headline the show. However, reports have since surfaced claiming that the pop sensation made demands of the NFL that the league was unwilling to meet.
Swift divulged the real reason for her Super Bowl reluctance during an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show’, discussing various topics with Jimmy Fallon following the release of her new album, including claims that she rejected the NFL because they wouldn’t let her own the footage.

Taylor shut down the rumor noted above, stating that her team has a great relationship with Jay-Z and Roc Nation and has held talks about her availability. However, she’s too invested in her relationship with Travis Kelce to headline a Super Bowl halftime show, given that he plays football.
Swift also revealed that she never received an official offer from Roc Nation.
“I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field,” she said, “and this has nothing to do with Travis; he would love for me to do it, I’m just too locked in.”

The pair announced their engagement earlier this year and could be newlyweds by next offseason.
There’s hope that Taylor might opt to perform at a halftime show once Kelce retires. But the Kansas City Chiefs making it back to the big stage this season is quite the long shot, given how they’re playing right now.
Monday night’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars left them with a 2-3 record heading into next Sunday’s game against a contending team in the Detroit Lions.
