John Cena will finally hang up his wrestling boots next year in December. Drew McIntyre has shared that he wants a singles match against him for the first time during the retirement tour.
The 16-time world champion was the face of WWE for many years, especially after the company went PG. He made the transition to Hollywood and has starred in many popular movies. Cena still loves the wrestling business and will make his in-ring return in January until the end of 2025.
Drew McIntyre recently went live on TikTok and responded to a fan asking if he had any plans to work with John Cena. The Scottish Warrior said he won’t stop pitching for a one-on-one match against the WWE legend, as they’ve never had one before.

Kevin Owens reflects on beating John Cena clean on his WWE debut
The former Universal Champion’s first match on the main roster was against John Cena at Elimination Chamber in 2015. Kevin Owens won the bout clean by pinfall.
Owens looked back on the match during an episode of WWE: Retrospective and stated:
“Yeah, so the match was one thing, and obviously beating John [Cena] as clean as a whistle at the time was really almost unseen. It wasn’t something that would happen very often. And there’s more to it too. I don’t look like the typical WWE wrestler. I kind of stuck out like a sore thumb at the time,” KO said.
Kevin Owens is a huge heel in WWE, and John Cena has been a babyface for over a decade. Another match between them would be interesting to see.
