32YO Viral Athlete Reveals Shaquille O’Neal’s One Favor That Threw Him In the Spotlight
Mac McClung had everyone’s jaws dropped with his dunk over 7’1″ Shaquille O’Neal! The Big Aristotle never lets anyone dunk on him! But this is a different story. After Vince Carter, the 26-year-old was seen putting up a mind-blowing show of four awe-inspiring dunks in the Bay Area this year. He is the first player to win three consecutive Slam Dunk titles! But he isn’t the only one to have dunked over the Lakers champ. There’s another player who had a rather interesting story about how he dunked over Shaq.
Jordan Kilganon is a household name in the basketball world for his flashy dunks and unbelievable maneuvers. And he had a chance to show his skills to O’Neal as well. Some mistook the rumors for truth and believed that Kilganon had actually dunked over the 4x NBA champion. That’s because he had dunked over other NBA players. But that wasn’t true.
Whenever fans saw him, they excitedly asked about it, and he had to explain the truth. What actually happened was that O’Neal was a judge at The Dunk King 2, where Kilganon had participated. However, Kilganon then decided to turn the rumor into reality. In a recent clip, Kilganon shared that he convinced O’Neal for the dunk. He asked for the favor when he met O’Neal once again during the Kellogg’s Classic Celebrity Game. This is where O’Neal coached him.
“I asked him, and I wasn’t sure if he was going to say yes, because it’s kind of a crazy ask. He did hesitate, but in the end, he agreed. Huge shout out to Shaq for even considering this. I set him up, locked in, and I knew I couldn’t mess this up. Moment of truth. And we did it. So now I can finally say yes when people ask me if. I jumped over Shaq, and here’s the story,” Kilganon said.

The 32-year-old had some fond memories from The Dunk King 2 as well. This is where it all began after all.
Jordan Kilganon recalls dunking in front of Shaquille O’Neal
O’Neal never participated in a Dunk Contest. However, he is well known for his powerful dunks and breaking backboards. To put on a show in front of him, Kilganon knew the challenge went all out. And for the semifinals, his opponent was Dominic Carter.
“I did this dunk in front of Shaq … It was the semifinals of The Dunk King 2, and it was me versus Dominic Carter who started the round by absolutely crushing this windmill. I was in the zone, so I looked lovingly into Shaq’s eyes and punched a 360 scoop to get a perfect score from the judges. Then I got lucky,” Kilganon said in an IG clip.
He shared that since Carter missed his dunk, all he had to do was just a simple lay up and move to the finals, but he chose for a big one. “Moment of truth, boys. And nailed it. Still the cleanest car dunk to date,” he boasted. Ben McLemore and Hamidou Diallo are the two other basketball stars who dunked over the Los Angeles Lakers legend in 2014 and 2019. McClung is the latest until another star player emerges for a new record. The bar is higher than ever!
