Angel Reese Drops 3 Words for Gabby Thomas Upon Receiving Major Honor at FNAA Awards
Gabby Thomas had her crowning moment in Paris this year. Coming into Paris with a lot of hype, Thomas proved that every bit was worth it. Competing in the 200m, 4x100m relay, and 4×40 relay, Thomas owned the tracks. Not only did she cement her track legacy by winning the 200-meter gold medal but she also helped her team reach the summit. Clinching 3 gold medals in total, Thomas returned home a champion. However, her Olympic triumph did not give her room to rest and cherish her accolades. If anything, it only made her schedule more hectic.
Teaming up with Alexis Ohanian, Gabby Thomas became the face of Athlos NYC. Advocating for better pay for women, the 27-year-old participated in the women’s exclusive race, making it a huge success. Now, taking on a more formal role outside of her track engagement, Gabby Thomas was spotted at the FNAA 2024 Red Carpet. Appearing at the 38th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards, Thomas took up the role of a presenter.
The 3x Olympic champion Gabby Thomas attended the event to present sporting apparel giant New Balance with the Company of the Year Award. As a matter of fact, Thomas and New Balance’s ties date way back to 2018. After graduating from Harvard University, Gabby Thomas signed up with NB in 2018. While winning the 200-meter gold in Paris, Thomas donned a pair of FuelCell SuperComp MD-x v3 spikes from New Balance.
Now, while this was surely a moment of great honor for the Olympian Gabby Thomas, her fellow athletes too marveled at the achievement. Taking to Instagram, WNBA star Angel Reese shared glimpses of Thomas presenting at the FNAA 2024. Impressed by what she was doing, Reese wrote, “Literally a BEAUTY! @gabbythomas.” The 27-year-old Gabby Thomas, too, reciprocated her acknowledgment of Reese’s compliment by sharing the post on her Instagram story.
Well, that was not the only moment of sisterhood and mutual respect the duo shared. Moments later, Reese too, was up on the stage. She was due to present the Style influencer of the Year award. And Thomas could not be more thrilled. She immediately posted a picture of Reese giving her speech and captioned it saying, “Living example of you can do ANYTHING you dream of. Congrats @angelreese5 🩷👏” Meanwhile, coming back to Thomas, this was not the prestigious accolade her Olympic triumph brought her.
Gabby Thomas already had a couple of Olympic medals to show for before Paris. Competing in Tokyo, the 27-year-old won a 200m bronze medal as well as a silver in 4x100m relay. With her incredible performance in Paris, Thomas got featured on the Forbes Annual 30 under 30 list for 2025. The list is a prestigious acknowledgment of rising talents in different fields like social media, Hollywood, Sports and more.
Overwhelmed on receiving the honor, Thomas stated, “This journey has been passion, perseverance, and an incredible support system,” she wrote. “Honored to be named to the @forbesunder30 list for 2025.” While mentioning her accolades, Forbes’ editor mentioned that the 3 gold medals in Paris made Thomas become the first US track and field athlete to clinch three golds in a single Olympics. The editor also added, “She also helped launch 2024’s Athlos Invitational, a women’s-only track meet with an enormous prize purse.”
