Recently, Reggie Miller appeared on All the Smoke with Matt Barnes and reflected on the legend of Drazen Petrovic. Reggie recalled how Vernon Maxwell recently called Petrovic his “nightmare”. “I saw when Mad Max was in this seat, talking about him,” Reggie started, agreeing with Max’s bold statement that Petrovic was one of the hardest players to guard. Even Petrovic’s trash talk skills were elite. “You could be this close to him. Didn’t matter. And not only is he giving it off, he’s telling you about it too,” he claimed. Max went as far as saying he’d rather guard Michael Jordan than Petrovic. Never seen anything like it before.”

Petrovic was far from the most athletic, but his skill set was deadly. Maxwell explained, “He had that triple-threat down to the teeth. He was killing my as* with that.” The way Petrovic could create space, move off the ball, and then hit impossible shots made him nearly impossible to stop.
