The reigning Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is reportedly set to face a legendary name at WrestleMania 41. Despite rumors of The American Nightmare’s clash against John Cena at the Show of Shows, the company might have different plans. This could be The Final Boss, The Rock, instead.
Since returning to World Wrestling Entertainment in 2022, Cody Rhodes has become one of the biggest faces of the company. After dethroning Roman Reigns as the Undisputed WWE Champion at WrestleMania 40, Rhodes has defended his title against multiple opponents.
However, people have been comparing Cody’s current run and character to John Cena’s on-screen persona in the Stamford-based promotion. These comparisons have led to several rumors of a possible clash between The American Nightmare and The Cenation Leader before the latter’s retirement in 2025.

The Rock promised he would return to WWE to face Cody Rhodes
At the start of 2024, The Rock put on an incredible performance while tag-teaming with Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania XL Night One.
During his appearance on RAW after WrestleMania, The Brahma Bull showed up to congratulate Rhodes on his Undisputed WWE Championship win. However, before leaving the ring, The Final Boss promised that he would soon return to restart his feud with The American Nightmare.
Since then, many fans have been speculating about a singles match between the two arch-rivals. It will be interesting to see if the Stamford-based promotion has any plans for a singles match between Cody Rhodes and The Rock at WrestleMania 41.
