George Clooney is said to be fighting for his marriage with Amal having become distanced with his second wife.

Clooney and wife Amal have been married since 2014, with the superstar actor remarrying 21 years after his divorce from Talia Balsam in 1993.

Amal is a British-Lebanese human rights lawyer who is 17 years his junior, aged 46. After 10 years of marriage, the couple are now said to be on the rocks, according to a report from RadarOnline.com.

The report claims Clooney was clutching his wife tightly during an August 2 date night in Italy.

A source said: “He’s started to really worry about losing Amal and making way more time to connect with her because it suddenly dawned on him they’re becoming more like roommates than lovers. She’s still very young and vibrant, and George can’t exactly ignore their age gap.”

The source has also claimed that the 63-year-old has been getting worried about his fading appearance, given he has been known as one of the best-looking men in the industry during his career.

“He’s starting to show his age, and it’s freaking him out,” the source added. “If he wants to hang on to Amal, he needs to make a big effort to keep sweeping her off her feet. They need to keep the passion alive, so George is becoming Mr. Romance.”

Relocation, relocation… separation?

The pair recently upped sticks and moved to Provence in France. Clooney and Amal are said to have been so caught up in the move that they took their relationship for granted.

But Clooney is said to be working hard at the marriage, with the source adding: “But George is making their marriage a huge priority. They’re having romantic lunches and going on long walks after dinner.

“He’s desperate to get the passion firing and doing sweet things like surprising her in bed with her favorite croissants and buying her perfumes. Happy wife, happy life’ is his motto and he’s putting his money and time where his mouth is.”
