Grammys fans fume awards show is rigged as Beyoncé’s stunned look ‘says it all’ following win

Music fans are convinced that this year’s Grammy Awards were rigged after Beyoncé won the accolade for Best Country Album on Sunday evening.

The 43-year-old singer appeared to be in shock when Taylor Swift stood on stage at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena and announced that she’d bagged the award for her album Cowboy Carter.

However, many people tuning in on February 2 claimed that the outcome was fixed and referenced Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z, who lambasted the Recording Academy industry at the 2024 ceremony after his wife failed to win an award.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one person posted a photo of Beyoncé’s winning face and captioned it: ‘Beyoncé won the Grammy for the best country album. Even she knows it’s rigged.’

A second posted: ‘Let’s be honest… nobody listened to that album, the Grammys have always been rigged and Jay-Z bought that prize for her.’

A third person commented: ‘Beyoncé shows up right before she wins best country album of the year???

‘And you expect people to believe the Grammys aren’t rigged? right…’

A fourth fumed: ‘Beyoncé 100% rigged the Grammys no doubt about it I literally heard NOBODY talking about that album the only song I’ve ever heard was the Texas one #GRAMMYs MORE LIKE #SCAMMYS.’

Taking to X, one person claimed that even Beyoncé knew that the outcome was ‘rigged’

And a fifth wrote: ‘Beyonce with the worst surprised reaction in history. I’m no country music expert… but come on!!’

Someone else said: ‘Remember when Jay Z threw a fit at last year’s Grammys and then SOMEHOW Beyoncé wins County Album of the year? Tell me this isn’t as rigged as the NFL?’

A different X user posted: ‘Tell me the Grammys are rigged without telling me they are rigged. Post Malone is more country than Beyonce! Lainey Wilson should have won that.’

Another said: ‘Beyoncé won best country album of the year!! The world has lost its freaking mind! #grammys they’re rigged. Bought and paid for.’

And someone else posted: ‘This already sounds like it’s rigged for Beyoncé to win… That Jay Z check must’ve cleared. Embarrassing.

‘Also, this gimmick of Beyoncé always showing up late is getting so old, she’s been doing this every year for the past five years.’

A different person added: ‘Grammy 2025: Beyonce wins album of the year for ‘Cowboy Carter’. Beyoncé’s reaction says it all #GRAMMYs.’

Referring to Taylor, 35, who didn’t win any awards on the night, another person said: ‘the way she lost all of her 8 nominations in this category while being the most acclaimed songwriter proves that Grammys are rigged, sorry Taylor you deserve better.’

During her acceptance speech, Beyoncé told the star-studded crowd: ‘Oh, my god. Wow. I really was not expecting this. Wow. I want to thank god. Oh, my god. That I am able to still do what I love after so many years.

‘Oh, my god. I would like to thank all of the incredible country artists that accepted this album. We work so hard on it.

‘I think sometimes, genre is a cold word to keep us in our place as artists, and I just want to encourage people to do what they’re passionate about. And to stay persistent. Wow.’

She concluded her epic speech by thanking her family – including daughter Blue Ivy, 13 – and everyone who helped her work on the critically-acclaimed project.

She added: ‘I’d like to thank my beautiful family. All of the artists that were collaborators. Thank you. This ones have been this album without you. I’d like to thank god, again, and my fans. I still am in shock, so thank you so much for this honor.’
