Michael Jordan’s ‘missing’ Ferrari finally found after 15 years as car enthusiast makes ‘miraculous’ discovery

MJ amassed a huge car collection over the years and one particular Ferrari owned by the Chicago Bulls legend has re-emerged.

An iconic missing Ferrari once owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan has recently re-emerged after 15 years.

The 62-year-old is one of basketball’s all-time greats and is arguably the sport’s GOAT following a legendary spell with the Chicago Bulls which saw him transcend the sport and enter mainstream culture.

The now-retired Jordan, who last played in 2003 after ending his career with the Washington Wizards, is a six-time NBA champion following his time with the Bulls, also being crowned the MVP in the NBA Finals a total of six times.

Jordan was also named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player overall on five occasions.

Jordan’s rise off the basketball court was aided by his memorable partnership with Nike on his Air Jordan trainers, and his exploits on the big screen by appearing in the 1996 film Space Jam.

As of this year, Jordan’s net worth has been estimated at $3.5 billion, and the NBA legend has owned an extensive luxury car collection in his time as a result.

The car enthusiast’s list of automobiles that he has owned includes a Chevrolet Corvette C4, a Porsche 930 Turbo Cabriolet, a Toyota Land Cruiser J80, a 40th anniversary edition Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, a Mercedes W140 S600 Coupe, a Porsche 993 Turbo S, an Aston Martin DB7 Volante, a Bentley Continental GT, a Cadillac XLR-V, a McLaren-Mercedes SLR 722, and a 23XI Racing Toyota.

He even has a very rare version of the Bugatti Veyron, which famously has 1,000bhp thanks to a W16 engine, and a Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster, which cost $3 million, is designed to reach 300mph and only 45 of them have been built.

But one of the most iconic cars that MJ has owned is the Ferrari 512 TR – the Testarossa – in black.

He purchased the car in 1992 for $212,000 and it had a license plate reading M AIR J as part of the Air Jordan legend which surrounds him.

His car was sold to businessman Chris Gardner and the Ferrari then disappeared before appeared at an auction for $100,000 and had last been registered in 2010.

But a YouTube channel called We Are Curated has earlier this year tracked down and found Jordan’s missing Ferrari in California, after the current owner had left it largely unused for the past decade-and-a-half after being diagnosed with a rare type of bone cancer.

Fortunately, the owner’s home and the Ferrari had been spared from destruction in the recent fires that swept across California and devastated the US state.

The YouTube channel’s team were able to convince the owner to sell it to them, and now MJ’s Testarossa will be restored after 15 years of inactivity, with the now-previous owner promised a drive in it once that work is complete.
