Michael Jordan’s Updated Air Jordan 7 Is Almost Here — And It’s Under $150

Nike, Inc.’s Jordan Brand introduced the Air Jordan 4 RM in 2024 and now, a new model from Michael Jordan’s signature sneaker line will receive a similar update.

The Air Jordan 7 will be the second Jordan legacy model to get the RM treatment. News of an updated Air Jordan 7 first leaked in October 2024 and now, an official look at two upcoming colorways has surfaced. One style uses an Air Jordan staple black-and-red “Bred” look, while the other opts for a more neutral black and Wolf Gray.

Although the original leak dubbed the model the Air Jordan 7 RM and the model features changes similar to what was seen on the Air Jordan 4 RM, the new shoe will instead reportedly be called the Air Jordan MVP 92.

Short for “restomod” or “reimagined,” the Air Jordan RM series has featured updates to Jordan’s classic on-court sneakers that make the shoes more durable and fit for action sports such as bike riding. The Air Jordan 4 was introduced through collaborations with BMX pro Nigel Sylvester, but it remains to be seen what the brands plan’s are for this new model.

Key changes to the classic Air Jordan 7, which was originally released in 1992, include a lower ankle cut, the addition of what’s presumably a more breathable mesh side panel and a beefed-up TPU heel counter which should be able to withstand a breadth of activities. The new model also retains some of the Air Jordan 7’s Huarache-inspired tongue, but doesn’t appear to feature a full inner bootie like the original version.

Readers can expect the Air Jordan MVP 92 to be released later this fall for a retail price of $140, putting its MSRP considerably lower than a standard Air Jordan 7 Retro. A full look at the “Black/Gym Red/Anthracite” and “Black/Wolf Grey/Anthracite” styles appears below.
