Remembering Kristine Marie Swearson on Her Heavenly Birthday — A Life Full of Love, Dreams, and Legacy Never Forgotten
Honoring a Beautiful Spirit on Her Heavenly Birthday
On September 4th, we honor and remember Kristine Marie Swearson, a vibrant and inspiring woman whose life was tragically cut short in the attacks on September 11, 2001. Born on September 4, 1967, to Eileen Townley and Ben Swearson, Kristine grew up alongside her beloved older sister, Kerri, in Manhattan, New York. From a young age, Kristine’s determination and warmth touched everyone around her.
A Journey of Ambition and Heart
Kristine attended Leigh High School and later graduated from Rutgers University, setting the foundation for a promising career. She began her professional journey at Merrill Lynch before joining Cantor Fitzgerald, where she worked as a web designer for its subsidiary, eSpeed, on the 103rd floor of the World Trade Center’s North Tower.
Friends and family recall Kristine’s unwavering ambition and her dream to work in New York City. On a sightseeing trip, she gazed up at the World Trade Center and told her sister, “See those towers? I’m going to work there someday.” By early 2001, Kristine had fulfilled that dream, thriving in her role and forging deep friendships with her colleagues.
A Life Filled With Love and Connection
Beyond her professional achievements, Kristine was known for her generosity, warmth, and zest for life. She enjoyed traveling, yoga, and dancing, and cherished her loving relationship with her boyfriend of two years. Kristine’s bond with her sister Kerri was especially close; they were not only siblings but best friends.
Family meant everything to Kristine. She had recently reunited with long-lost cousins in North Dakota and took the initiative to create a family website to stay connected, embodying her commitment to bringing loved ones together.
September 11th: A Life Cut Short, A Legacy That Endures
On the morning of September 11, 2001, Kristine was at her desk on the 103rd floor when Flight 11 struck the North Tower. The impact zone left her and her colleagues at Cantor Fitzgerald with no way out. None survived. Kristine’s life, full of promise and love, ended far too soon.
Yet, Kristine’s spirit endures. Her family and friends remember her as generous, loving, and inspiring—a woman who worked hard for her dreams and cherished every moment with those she loved. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of everyone who knew her and in the memories she created.
