Shaq is bringing the boom with ‘Bass All-Stars’ in Sacramento
Shaquille O’Neal, who was recently named Sac State men’s basketball GM, will perform as DJ Diesel in Heart Health Park on July 11.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal is dropping beats this summer in Sacramento.
O’Neal is bringing his “Shaq’s Bass All Stars” show to Heart Health Park at Cal Expo on July 11, which is also the first date of the California State Fair. The announcement follows O’Neal’s recent appointment as the General Manager of the Sacramento State men’s basketball program.
The Hall of Famer performs at festivals and tours internationally under the alias DJ Diesel. His sets mainly feature electronic dance music.
“Shaq’s Bass All Stars” in Sacramento will feature sets by DJ Diesel, Rated R, Celo, and special surprise guests.
Tickets for the show go on sale Thursday, with a presale sign-up available through O’Neal’s DJ Diesel Instagram account. Only people who are 18 and older are allowed at the event.
O’Neal was named the general manager of the Sac State men’s basketball team on April 28, following the hire of Sacramento Kings legend Mike Bibby as head coach.
The role is a voluntary gig for O’Neal and his responsibilities include mentoring players, recruitment, and helping with acquiring sponsors.
O’Neal’s son, Shaqir O’Neal, committed to play basketball at Sac State in late March.
