The Newark native has been inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, he has a gold medal for playing basketball on Team USA at the Olympics, NBA awards for most valuable player and rookie of the year … and the list goes on.
Something he doesn’t have:
A star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
That’s going to be changing, since O’Neal, 53, was just announced as a member of the walk’s class of 2026.
O’Neal will be getting a star on the walk of fame alongside many other new additions.
They include actors Timothée Chalamet, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Emily Blunt, Rami Malek, Bradley Whitford, Noah Wyle, Demi Moore, Keith David, Molly Ringwald, Deepika Padukone, Rachel McAdams and Marion Cotillard.

O’Neal is the only incoming honoree to be recognized in the sports entertainment category.
The NBA great, who played for the Orlando Magic, the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics, is a sports analyst for ESPN and ABC’s “Inside the NBA.”
His footprint goes well beyond sports.
O’Neal, also a business mogul, has released several albums as a rapper — starting with “Shaq Diesel” in 1993 — and has many acting credits in film and TV.
He starred in the 1996 film “Kazaam” and the 1997 DC superhero movie “Steel” and made an appearance in “Good Burger” the same year.
O’Neal can also be seen in “Freddy Got Fingered” (2001), “The Wash” (2001), “After the Sunset” (2004), “The Kid & I” (2005), “Scary Movie 4″ (2006), “The Bros.” (2007), “The House Bunny” (2008), “Jack and Jill” (2011), “Grown Ups 2″ (2013), “The Smurfs 2″ (2013), “Blended” (2014), “What Men Want” (2019), “Hubie Halloween (2020) and ”Hustle” (2022).
His TV credits include “Martin,” “Arli$$,” “My Wife & Kids,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “The Bernie Mac Show,” “The Parkers” and “The Tracy Morgan Show.”
