Multiple injury rumors have made the rounds, one of which has already been quashed. Meanwhile, spoilers for WWE’s most recent tapings are out. A new champion has been crowned! So, without further ado, let’s get right into the roundup.
#1 Wes Lee injured during WWE Main Event tapings

Top WWE star blasted, compared to Winnie the Pooh RIGHT HERE
WWE taped next week’s episode of RAW this past Monday in Boston. This included the pre-show matches for Main Event and Speed. Among the bouts before the show, Wes Lee defeated Dion Lennox. However, according to PWInsider, the former NXT North American Champion got hurt during the match.
Lee reportedly suffered an injury to his foot or ankle but was still able to finish the match. He was due to get checked out by WWE doctors, but there isn’t any further update on his condition. Sportskeeda Wrestling wishes Wes Lee all the best and we hope he doesn’t have to miss much time due to injury.
While Wes Lee did get injured, another similar rumor has been debunked. LA Knight was thought to have been injured, after he was allegedly pulled from an upcoming meet and greet in Tampa on December 27th.
Luekens Wine & Spirits’ official X/Twitter handle posted a tweet about this, claiming that The Megastar was injured and Braun Strowman would be replacing him. However, that isn’t true. According to Fightful Select, WWE has quashed the rumors. Knight is not injured and was never approved for an appearance at the meet and greet.
The tweet has since been deleted.
#3 Cody Rhodes replaced by Kevin Owens
Cody Rhodes is currently out of commission as Kevin Owens hit him with a Package Piledriver after their match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The American Nightmare was hospitalized and as a result, is no longer advertised for the upcoming Holiday Tour. His replacement? Well, Kevin Owens of course!
The Prizefighter took to X/Twitter to announce the news. KO referred to himself as the new, true WWE Champion, seemingly confirming he will keep the Winged Eagle title that he stole at Saturday Night’s Main Event:
“I am proud to officially announce that I will be competing in my first matches as your new, true WWE Champion on this year’s Holiday loop (that’s a term people in “the business” use that refers to a string of consecutive shows in different cities over a short period of time) starting in Jacksonville on the 26th, followed by 3 more shows in Florida and then one in Detroit for some reason,” wrote Kevin Owens.
It remains to be seen when Cody Rhodes will return and continue his feud with Kevin Owens.

#4 Title change at NXT tapings
Next week’s episode of NXT will not be live. Airing on Christmas Eve, the show was taped last night following this week’s episode. The biggest moment from the tapings may have been Lexis King shockingly winning the Heritage Cup from Charlie Dempsey.
According to multiple accounts online, William Regal hit the former AEW star with brass knuckles, causing him to win the cup by disqualification. The wrestling legend remains opposite sides to his son, who would be incensed at the events that transpired at the tapings.
