In recent days, two separate but equally shocking developments have surfaced: a leaked jailhouse video and a batch of newly released surveillance footage capturing Kohberger’s movements before and after the killings.
The Jailhouse Leak
The first revelation involves a video recorded inside the Idaho jail where Kohberger has been held since his arrest in late 2022. The short clip, showing him in his cell during his earliest days of incarceration, spread rapidly across TikTok and Reddit. Officials have confirmed the footage is authentic.
What makes the leak alarming is not what the video shows, but how it was obtained. Authorities believe a corrections officer used a personal phone to secretly record security monitors, then shared the clip. The leak represents a severe breach of jail protocol.
Kohberger’s defense attorney, Anne Taylor, was the first to alert jail leadership after the footage began circulating online. The incident has since sparked an internal investigation. According to sources, officials have already narrowed the field of suspects among jail staff, and criminal charges are being considered against the individual responsible.

This was the night four students—Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin—were brutally stabbed to death.
Between 3:30 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., multiple cameras captured the Elantra driving past the victims’ rental home, leaving, and returning again. Prosecutors argue the footage reveals a pattern of stalking behavior, suggesting Kohberger was surveilling the house before striking.
Hours later, other cameras in Clarkston, Washington, caught Kohberger casually appearing at Costco and Albertsons, attempting to shop as if nothing had happened. At one point, he was turned away for lacking a Costco membership, only to circle back and check out groceries at Albertsons. His demeanor was calm, ordinary—even mundane.
Investigators believe he may have also driven near the Snake River, where they suspect he could have attempted to dispose of evidence. The murder weapon, a fixed-blade knife, has never been recovered.
Mounting Evidence
While DNA evidence found on a knife sheath remains the cornerstone of the prosecution’s case, the surveillance videos add a chilling visual narrative: a suspect lingering near the crime scene before the murders and blending into everyday life just hours after.
