Nate Bargatze’s Funniest ‘Hey Robot’ Moments on The Tonight Show
It was a crisp autumn morning in the small town of Willow Creek. The leaves were painted in vibrant shades of orange, red, and gold, creating a picturesque backdrop for the day. Lucy, a bright-eyed twelve-year-old with an adventurous spirit, was walking to school, her backpack bouncing with each step. Little did she know, this day would be unlike any other.
As Lucy strolled down Maple Street, she noticed something peculiar in the nearby park. A small crowd had gathered around a peculiar object. Curiosity piqued, she quickened her pace, eager to see what was drawing everyone’s attention. When she arrived, she found a strange, metallic box, about the size of a large suitcase, covered in intricate engravings that shimmered in the sunlight.

“What is that?” Lucy asked a boy named Sam, who was standing next to her.
“I don’t know,” he replied, his eyes wide with excitement. “But it looks like something out of a sci-fi movie!”
The crowd murmured in agreement, each person speculating about the origins of the mysterious box. Just then, a loud clang echoed from within the box, causing everyone to jump back. The lid of the box began to creak open, and a soft blue light spilled out, illuminating the faces of the onlookers.
“Should we open it?” Sam whispered, glancing at Lucy.
Before she could respond, a brave girl named Mia stepped forward. “I’ll do it!” she declared, her voice steady despite the uncertainty in the air. With a deep breath, she reached out and lifted the lid of the box.
Inside, they found a shimmering crystal orb, pulsating with a gentle light. As Mia reached in to touch it, the orb suddenly flared up, enveloping her in a brilliant glow. The crowd gasped, and Lucy felt a surge of excitement mixed with fear.
“Mia!” Lucy cried out, but before she could react, the orb shot a beam of light into the sky, creating a swirling vortex above them. The wind picked up, howling through the trees, and in an instant, Mia was gone, whisked away into the unknown.
“What just happened?” Sam exclaimed, his voice trembling.
“We have to get her back!” Lucy declared, determination flooding her veins. “We can’t just leave her!”
The crowd began to disperse, fear taking hold of them. But Lucy, Sam, and a few other brave souls remained. “We need to find a way to follow her,” Lucy said, her mind racing. “Maybe the box can help us!”
After a few moments of hesitation, they decided to investigate the box further. They examined the engravings, which seemed to tell a story of adventure and bravery. Lucy traced her fingers over the symbols, trying to decipher their meaning. Suddenly, she felt a warmth radiating from the orb, and it began to glow brighter.
“Look!” Sam shouted, pointing at the orb. “It’s reacting to you!”
Lucy felt a strange connection to the orb, as if it was calling to her. “Maybe it wants us to use it,” she suggested. “If we can activate it, we might be able to follow Mia!”
With a nod of agreement, they gathered around the box. Lucy took a deep breath and placed her hands on the orb. As she concentrated, the engravings on the box began to glow, and she felt a rush of energy coursing through her. The air crackled with electricity, and suddenly, the orb shot a beam of light towards the vortex.
In an instant, the world around them shifted. The ground beneath their feet disappeared, and they were pulled into the swirling portal. Lucy screamed, but there was no time to be afraid. She held onto the orb tightly, determined to find Mia.
Moments later, they landed with a thud on soft grass. Lucy looked around, her heart racing. They were in a strange, vibrant world filled with towering trees, colorful flowers, and creatures she had never seen before. The sky was a brilliant shade of purple, and two suns hung high above them.
“Where are we?” Sam asked, looking bewildered.
“I think we’re in another dimension,” Lucy replied, her eyes wide with wonder. “We have to find Mia!”
They set off through the lush landscape, calling out Mia’s name. As they ventured deeper into the forest, they encountered all sorts of fantastical creatures—glowing butterflies, talking animals, and even a friendly giant who offered them fruit.
After what felt like hours of searching, they stumbled upon a clearing where they found Mia sitting on a rock, looking dazed but unharmed. “Mia!” Lucy shouted, running towards her.
“Mia, are you okay?” Sam asked, concern etched on his face.
“I think so,” Mia replied, a smile breaking across her face. “But I don’t know how to get back!”
Lucy held up the orb. “I think this can help us! It brought us here, so maybe it can take us home too.”
As they gathered around the orb, Lucy focused on the engravings once more. “We need to activate it again,” she said, determination in her voice. “We have to think about home!”
They all closed their eyes and concentrated, envisioning their school, their families, and the familiar sights of Willow Creek. The orb began to glow brighter, and a warm light enveloped them once more.
Suddenly, they were pulled back through the portal, landing once again in the park where their adventure had begun. The box was still there, but the orb had faded, its light extinguished.
“We did it!” Lucy exclaimed, jumping up and down in excitement.
“What an adventure!” Mia said, her eyes sparkling. “I can’t believe we actually traveled to another world!”
As they walked home together, recounting their incredible journey, Lucy felt a sense of pride and camaraderie. They had faced the unknown together, and in doing so, they had forged an unbreakable bond.
From that day on, the group of friends became inseparable, always seeking out new adventures. They often returned to the park, hoping to uncover more mysteries, but they knew that no matter what, they would always have each other—and the memories of their unexpected journey to another world.
And so, as the leaves continued to fall and the seasons changed, Lucy and her friends embraced the magic of friendship and adventure, ready for whatever lay ahead.
