As she continues to enjoy her many medals from the 2024 Paris Olympics, Simone Biles is taking that gold and bringing it somewhere new, announcing that she will be opening a restaurant in Houston, Texas called Taste of Gold.
The news was announced by the George Bush Intercontinental Airport, where her new restaurant will be located. Taste of Gold is already under construction in IAH Terminal A, near Gate A8, as reported in a press release.
Lastly, the fans can see where the restaurant is being built because it is painted with a mural with the Americans colors and an image of a gymnast, which could presumably depict Biles in mid- flip. Taste of Gold is with The Playmakers Group and there will be dishes on the menu by Mark Brezinski.
Biles commented on her new venture: “At my core, I love to eat, and with Taste of Gold, the plan is to have a lovely dining experience where the emphasis is on gourmet, recognizable dishes I have recently been awarded for with some of my faves in there for our guests.”
Taste of Gold also received appreciations from the restaurant’s managing partner Derek Missimo, who described Biles as the ultimate in terms of excellence because of her achievements, leadership, and spirit.
“It’s a huge privilege for us to be working with her on this restaurant which will add a unique value proposition to our guests as well as fellow members of the Houston airport.”
Houston’s KPRC-TV also released information on the news, and followers expressed their excitement with regards to Biles new venture.
Turns out, seven golds in the hand is worth one in the bush,” joked one fan, as another said, “You GO GIRL!…High ten!”
A third commended it as a “Great business move,” while someone else supported the restaurant and location, saying, “I was about to say that celebrities and restaurants rarely work out, but in an airport might actually be genius lol.”
The gymnastics news platform, Gymnastics Now, declared that Biles was “✨In her entrepreneur era✨,” as a fan replied, “Will there be goat on the menu?
Even Taste of Gold was mentioned by one fan who expressed willingness to travel just to experience the restaurant: “I’ll little take a drip to Houston just to the restaurant.”
Taste of Gold is expected to be up and running within the first quarter of the financial year 2025.
