Can’t Drink, Can’t Eat, Can’t Even Cry For Help. Only Tears As That Tape Squeezing Her Last Hope…

No words can truly describe the horror of what was done to her. She was found abandoned, her muzzle tightly bound with black tape, ticks crawling all over her face, her eyes filled with silent pleas for help. The tape was so tight it had nearly torn half her mouth apart, leaving her unable to drink, eat, or even cry out. All she could do was let tears fall, the only sign of life and hope left in her battered body.

When a local woman first saw the dog, she felt a wave of shock and heartbreak. The animal, in visible pain and terrified, snapped and growled at anyone who tried to get close. The tape had not only robbed her of her voice but also her trust. Unable to remove the tape herself, the woman quickly dialed 911, desperate for help before it was too late.

Within minutes, the animal rescue team, 2BPM, arrived at the scene. They approached slowly, understanding the danger and distress the dog was in. Carefully, patiently, they worked to loosen the tape, knowing any sudden movement could cause more harm. It was not an easy task; the tape had dug deep into her skin, and the dog, weak but still fighting, resisted every touch. But the rescuers did not give up. After several tense minutes, they finally managed to cut through the last piece and pull the tape away.

The dog, later named Kama, collapsed in exhaustion. Her mouth was swollen and bleeding, her body covered in hundreds of ticks. She was so weak she could barely stand, but her spirit was still there, wary and defensive. Marcinho Belota, a local animal rescuer known for his patience and kindness, offered to take Kama in for shelter and treatment. He knew the road to recovery would be long and difficult, but he was determined to give her a chance at life.

Kama was still very aggressive at first. The trauma of her ordeal had left her terrified of humans. Belota tried everything to calm her, speaking softly and moving slowly, never forcing contact. For hours, Kama refused to eat, the memory of pain from the tape still fresh in her mind. But as the night wore on, she began to lower her guard, allowing Belota to gently stroke her head. It was a small victory, but a meaningful one.

Belota offered food again, and this time, Kama took a hesitant bite. It was her first real meal in days. The relief and gratitude in her eyes were unmistakable, even as she remained cautious. But there was still much work to be done. The next challenge was to remove the countless ticks embedded in her skin. To do this safely, Belota had to put a muzzle on her again, a process that terrified Kama and brought back memories of her suffering. He spoke to her gently, reassuring her with every movement until she finally allowed him to proceed.

For over an hour, Belota worked to remove the ticks, filling bowl after bowl with the parasites. By the end, more than a thousand ticks had been pulled from her tiny body. The task was grueling, but necessary. Each tick removed was a small step toward healing, a small victory over the cruelty she had endured.

On the third day, something remarkable happened. Kama, once aggressive and fearful, began to show signs of trust. She ate food from Belota’s hand, wagged her tail, and even allowed gentle pats without flinching. Her mouth, though still necrotic and healing, was improving day by day. The aggression was gone, replaced by a calm, gentle demeanor. It was proof that love and patience could change even the most broken spirit.

As the days passed, Kama’s transformation became even more apparent. On day 27, she received a new name: Vitorinha, meaning “little victor.” She had gained 3.7 kilos, her mouth had almost completely healed, and she was learning new things every day. Her intelligence shone through as she quickly adapted to her new environment, eager to please and full of life.

Finally, the day came when Vitorinha was ready for adoption. She was welcomed into a loving home, her scars a testament to her strength and resilience. With her new owner, she thrived—running in the yard, playing with toys, and basking in the affection she had been denied for so long. The dog who once could not eat, drink, or even cry for help was now full of joy, hope, and love.

Her journey from the brink of death to a life filled with happiness would not have been possible without the heroism of Marcinho Belota and the dedicated team at 2BPM. Their compassion and determination gave Vitorinha a second chance and reminded everyone who followed her story that even in the darkest moments, hope can survive. Love truly can change everything.

Thanks to their efforts, Vitorinha’s tears are now tears of joy. Her story is a powerful reminder that no matter how hopeless things may seem, there is always a way forward—and sometimes, all it takes is a little kindness to save a life.
