During an eviction process led by the Sheriff’s Department, a severely mistreated dog was found at a residence.

This unfortunate animal had been restrained for years by a rope tied around its neck, leaving it exposed to harsh weather conditions and significant suffering.

The dog’s condition was dire. Weighing a mere 35 pounds instead of a healthy 70, it was burdened by dried blood, fleas, and severely clogged ears.

The animal struggled to walk or even stand due to weakness. Alarmingly, its gums were pale, and it experienced bloody urination.

Medical examinations revealed a host of health issues, including heartworm, severe anemia, a high white blood cell count, low protein levels, high potassium, and a severe urinary tract infection.

Despite these challenges, the dog, now named Justice, continued to show a flicker of hope and resilience by attempting to wag his tail.

Recently, Justice has shown encouraging signs of recovery. He ambitiously ventured out for a short walk, managing to stand and move for nearly 10 minutes without faltering, although still trembling.

His strong spirit shines through as he starts to reclaim some joy in life, particularly with his love for stuffed animals, which he’s now robust enough to play with.
