GH Comeback Hopes Alive! Sofia Mattsson Says She’s Open to Returning — And Still “Rooting for Sasha and Michael’s Reunion!”

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sofia Mattsson (Sasha Gilmore Corbin) is open to making a return and kicking off Sasha’s next chapter with Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson). Based on what Mattsson told TV Insider, she’s “rooting for Sasha and Michael to reunite one day!”

Sofia Mattsson wrapped her run as Sasha in the July 18 episode after Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) flew her to France with Daisy Gilmore (Brenden and Evelyn Beimford).

Sasha got settled in at Robert Scorpio’s (Tristan Rogers) place, where she’s going to spend some time getting to know her dad a bit better.

Robert mentioned that he was excited along with Holly Sutton (Emma Samms), so they’ll both have a chance to bond with Sasha and connect with little Daisy, too.

It was a beautiful ending for Sasha, but that hasn’t stopped fans from hoping that maybe Mattsson will come back to the show down the road.

It turns out Mattsson isn’t ruling out a GH return, so that’s good to know!

In Sofia Mattsson’s exit interview, she was asked about some personal story highlights from her run in Port Charles.

Since Mattsson describes herself as “a bit of a romantic,” she admitted she was especially fond of Sasha’s love stories.

Mattsson mentioned Sasha’s romance with Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) as well as her love connection with Michael.

In fact, Sasha and Michael’s relationship is one that Mattsson would like to see continue at some point.

“I’ve gotten an overwhelmingly positive response to our chemistry since Rory [Gibson] took over the role,” Mattsson said.

“Who knows in the future? I’m rooting for Sasha and Michael to reunite one day!”

Mattsson also confessed that if the right role came along, she might be on board with tackling another soap opportunity.

Since Mattsson feels like “being on a soap is one of the best jobs you can have as an actress,” she’d consider another daytime drama gig.
