Jay-Z Claps Back at Elon Musk Over Beyonce’s Country Album Controversy: “Shut the Hell Up, Martian!”

Jay-Z Claps Back at Elon Musk Over Beyonce’s Country Album Controversy: “You Better Shut The Hell Up With Your Lies, Martian M*ther*ucker.”

The hip-hop mogul Jay-Z is no stranger to controversy, but when billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk decided to throw shade at his wife, Beyonce, the Roc Nation boss wasted no time in setting the record straight.

It all started when Musk, known for his unfiltered Twitter antics, claimed that Jay-Z had allegedly paid over $200 million to ensure that Beyonce “won” the Best Country Album award. According to Musk’s now-deleted tweet, “It’s all rigged. Jay-Z spent $200M just so Beyonce could win Best Country Album. The industry is a joke.”

The claim quickly ignited a social media firestorm, with fans of both Musk and Beyonce clashing in the comments section. While the Beyhive swarmed Musk’s timeline with bee emojis, calling him out for spreading misinformation, it wasn’t long before Jay-Z himself jumped into the fray.

In a rare but fiery response, Jay-Z addressed Musk directly at a private event in New York, where he was caught on video saying, “You better shut the hell up with your lies, Martian motherf**r.” The remark, dripping with both frustration and humor, instantly went viral.

Jay-Z, known for his calculated and measured responses, didn’t just stop at the clapback. He later followed up in a conversation with reporters, saying, “First of all, my wife doesn’t need me or anyone else to buy her success. She’s the greatest performer of our time, period. And second, if I had $200 million to throw around like that, I’d be investing in something a lot more meaningful than Elon’s latest conspiracy theory.”

The controversy stemmed from Beyonce’s surprising foray into country music with her album Cowboy Carter, which received widespread acclaim and, yes, earned her a well-deserved Best Country Album win. While some traditionalists in the country music scene may have raised an eyebrow at her dominance in the genre, the idea that the award was “bought” rather than earned was a claim that many found laughable.

Musk, for his part, did what he does best—double down. In a follow-up post on X (formerly Twitter), he responded with a meme of an astronaut holding a sign that read, “The industry is not real.” However, the backlash from the Beyhive and Jay-Z’s scorching retort seemed to quiet things down, at least for the time being.

As for Beyonce? She has remained characteristically unbothered, choosing instead to let her talent and success do the talking. Meanwhile, Jay-Z’s now-iconic response has only cemented his status as the ultimate protector of the Queen Bee. And Musk? Well, he might want to pick his battles a little more wisely next time.
