Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby recently revealed that Antonio Brown gave him permission to do something that would undoubtedly anger black fans.

While the former star wide receiver was released by the team just months after he joined them via trade, his friction with the Raiders didn’t prevent him from being friends with Crosby.

A tweet from Dov Kleiman citing Haliey Welch’s ‘Talk Tuah’ podcast notes that Crosby claimed he was given free rein with the “N-word,” thanks to Brown. “AB knows a valid cracker when he sees one,” the star DE added.

Brown confirmed this in two words.

“Maxx definitely gets an invite to the BBQ,” a fan joked.

“Nothing says “valid” like getting approval from *Antonio Brown*… what a high bar!” another said sarcastically.

“ab always been breaking down racism,” joked another.

We have to assume that the former WR only gave Maxx permission to use the word in reference to him, but it would piss people off all the same. Crosby and Brown appear to be very good friends, yet the DE was wise enough not to use his pass, at least not in public.

Maxx Crosby Came Pretty Close

Of course, Maxx Crosby almost let the word slip last November after head coach Josh McDaniels was fired.

With the Raiders 3-5 and heading into a game against the New York Giants, the Pro Bowler recorded himself making a plea to Raiders fans for support and nearly let the “N-word” slip.

The near-mistake didn’t get past fans, who flamed him for it, though he was only trying to say “need to.”

Now we know who’s to blame…
