As Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour heads into its final weekend in Vancouver, police are warning fans about ticket scams following the arrest of a Canadian woman accused of defrauding nearly 30 buyers out of $70,000.

Taylor Swift Eras Tour fraud exposed

Denise Tisor, 43, of Burlington, Ontario, allegedly advertised fake tickets for Swift’s sold-out shows on Facebook Marketplace.

According to Toronto Police, Tisor-who also went by the alias “Denise Blackhawk”-provided seat and date details for tickets that buyers later discovered did not exist.

Victims reportedly paid for the fraudulent tickets through electronic transfers but were told they would not receive access until just before the event.

When the concert dates arrived, buyers were left empty-handed.

Police say when victims requested refunds, Tisor claimed the money was already gone.

“On the day of the concert, victims found that the tickets had not been transferred to their accounts,” Toronto Police explained, adding, “We believe there may be additional victims.”

Tisor faces numerous charges, including fraud over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, and multiple counts of fraud under $5,000.

Her alleged scheme began in August 2023, authorities said.

She is scheduled to appear in court on January 10.

The Vancouver Police Department has echoed warnings, urging fans to exercise caution when purchasing tickets.

“Ticketmaster only allows transfers 72 hours before the concert, so think twice before sending money and waiting on a response,” a spokesperson said.

Ticketmaster released ‘no view’ tickets for Vancouver

The hype surrounding the Vancouver dates, especially the Dec. 8 finale, has driven ticket demand and prices to staggering levels.

Fans are not only hoping to witness a star-studded event but also speculating on potential surprise announcements from Swift during the closing performance.

While Ticketmaster released additional tickets for the Vancouver shows earlier this week with full obstructed view, they were snapped up within minutes, leaving many fans still searching for a way in.

Police advise fans to rely on verified ticket vendors and to be skeptical of deals that seem too good to be true.

With Swift’s tour coming to an end, the stakes, and risks, are higher than ever.
