A new commercial featuring San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey and actor Matthew McConaughey had fans laughing during ‘Thursday Night Football.’

The Dallas Cowboys played the New York Giants in this week’s iteration of the Amazon Prime broadcast, and the game lived up to the lack of hype. Both offenses were no-shows; plenty of flags were thrown, and the Giants never got into the end zone.

An ad that debuted on the network seemed to get way more traction than the game itself. The piece showed McCaffrey and McConaughey sitting in a living room watching a game when the actor made claims of football being nothing but “an elaborate scheme” to get people hungry and, in turn, spend money on food.

McConaughey also posted the ad to X, formerly known as Twitter, with the caption: “Might be the game’s just a side dish, if you catch my drift.”

Uber Eats appears to have scored a major win with this one. They even succeeded in making social media users hungry after the ad went live online.
