Davido Set to Give Back to Orphanages and Youth Charities : N300M Birthday Gift
Nigerian music superstar, Davido, continues to lead with his heart as he announces a massive N300 million donation to orphanages and charity to provide support for young people to avoid drug abuse and addiction.
Early this morning Davido took to X (formerly know as Twitter ) and said “Once again my birthday this year we Donating to ophanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse & addiction” confirming this years birthday gift back to the people
This isn’t the first time Davido has used his birthday to mark a purpose. In the year 2021, Davido tasked his friends, fans, and industry colleagues to send him N1 million to his wema bank account each and it seemed like a playful social media campaign but In less than 72 hours, Davido raised N200 million and instead of keeping the funds, he added N50 million of his own money and donated the entire N250 million to 292 orphanages across Nigeria on his 29th birthday.
This year, he is set to take it a step further by increasing the amount to N300 million. In his announcement on X , Davido explained that the funds would not only support orphanages but also a charity that focuses on helping young Nigerians stay away from drug abuse and addiction and this will happen on his birthday which is on the 21st of November, 2024 .
