As if Edmonton Oilers fans needed more reasons to love Derek Ryan, a heartwarming new video has emerged of the veteran playing hockey with kids at a local outdoor rink.
Derek Ryan may be one of the oldest players on the team, but he’s definitely one of the most beloved members of the Oilers dressing room.
On this particular occasion, Derek Ryan was seen a his local ODR, playing some good ol’ keep away with a group of kids.
The Edmonton Oilers have been through an absolutely gauntlet the past few weeks, seemingly playing a game every other day, but it hasn’t deterred Derek Ryan from getting in some extra reps at the outdoor rink.
Honestly, DDerek Ryan is the absolute man for this.
Imagine the excitement of those kids sharing the ice with an NHL veteran like Derek Ryan.

Derek Ryan and his family have spoken about retiring as an Oiler last year.
Currently 39 years of age, winning a cup for Ryan would be something incredible to see so late in his career.
