Former Edmonton Oilers player has a big message ahead of tomorrow’s matchup with LA Kings
The Edmonton Oilers are gearing up for an epic playoff rematch tomorrow night against the LA Kings, and Warren Foegele has a message for his former team.
Warren Foegele was a beloved member of the Oilers dressing room during his 3 years spent playing in the City of Champions.
Last season, Warren Foegele recorded a career 41 points with the orange and blue, but it became clear that his future no longer resided with the Edmonton Oilers.
Fast forward to the offseason, Warren Foegele landed himself a new gig in Calfornia, and tomorrow marks the first time Foegele will suit up against his former team.
Warren Foegele has a message for the Oilers
«It wasn’t that I didn’t want to go back. I knew the direction they were going and I wasn’t part of their puzzle. That’s OK. In that final (Florida) series I really wanted to make the most of my time, though. I wanted to end it on a good note and it’s a real bummer that we didn’t win, especially knowing I wasn’t going back.»
-Warren Foegele
«The cool thing about this sport is you get to meet great people and I created some really good friendships in Edmonton that will last forever. I don’t have to be on the same team for that,”
-Warren Foegele
«There’s always a chip on your shoulder when you play your old team. I don’t know if Saturday is the ideal time, coming off a four-day break, though. You usually don’t have that in your first game back (against former squad) but you deal with the cards you’re dealt. It’s going to be fun, interesting,» he said.
-Warren Foegele
As per the Edmonton Journal, today, Foegele’s on the other side now, an Oiler observer. He’s firmly established on an L.A. line with centre Quinton Byfield, and for now, winger Tanner Jeannot. He’s still No. 37 but in a different jersey.
