Mattias Ekholm scores in dying seconds to send game to overtime, Draisaitl with game winner

Play la bamba baby! The Edmonton Oilers have just put the San Jose Sharks to bed in arguably the most frustrating game of the year so far.

The Edmonton Oilers were absolutely dominant through 60 periods, but couldn’t solve San Jose Sharks goaltender Yaroslav Askarov.

In the dying seconds of the third period, Edmonton Oilers defenceman Mattias Ekholm came absolutely clutch, ripping home the game tying goal to send the game to overtime.

Seconds into overtime, the Edmonton Oilers made quick work of the Sharks, with Leon Draisaitl scoring his 24th goal just 18 seconds in.

As frustrating as this game was to watch, you would be remiss not to tip your cap to the Sharks 22 year old Russian goaltender, who stood on his head the entire game.

With this win, the Oilers up their record to 20-10-2.
