Nick Hogan took to Instagram to pay tribute to his tribute, WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, in a moving social media post.

On Thursday morning, Hulk Hogan passed away at the age of 71 after going into cardiac arrest in Clearwater, Florida. Medical personnel spent 30 minutes trying to revive Hogan at his home, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

In a tear-jerking Instagram post, Nick Hogan shared several photos of the two together and wrote a touching tribute to his father:

Thank you to everyone who has reached out to me and comforted me over the last few days. It truly means a lot. I’m sorry to everyone I have not responded to yet. This has been overwhelming and extremely difficult.

Hearing so many kind words and stories about my dad’s life, interactions and experiences with everyone has been incredible and comforting.

My dad was the most incredible person I’ve ever known and will always be my hero. He was the most kind, loving and amazing father anybody could ask for. I feel so blessed to have had the greatest dad in the world.

He was not only the best dad but also my mentor and my best friend. He always has been my best friend and I love him and miss him more than I could ever explain. I thanked him for everything he has ever done for me and told him how much I loved him and hugged him every chance I got. I spent a lot of time with him the past few years after moving back to Florida to be closer to him and I am so grateful for those memories. They are the best moments in my life.

I would do anything to have him back but I know now that he will always be watching over me. I will always remember the lessons and advice he gave me and carry on in a way that I know would make him proud. Thank you for being the best dad in the world and thank you for being my best friend. I love you so much Big Dog and I will miss you forever.”

There are conflicting reports about Hogan’s health in the weeks leading up to his death. Radio host Bubba the Love Sponge reported last month that The Hulkster wasn’t in good health, though media outlets poured cold rumors over that.

A source close to Hogan’s family told Steve Helling of the Daily Mail that the wrestling great had a “weak heart” and suffered “from shortness of breath, got tired easily, had lost a lot of weight and was on oxygen” in the final weeks of his life.

A year ago, Hulk Hogan told Logan Paul that he had undergone about 25 surgeries over the previous 10 years. That included 10 back surgeries and replacements on both of his knees and hips.

Hogan had previously expressed his desire to do one more match in WWE, but he acknowledged how difficult it would be with his health issues. His last match for the company took place at SummerSlam 2026, where The Hulkster defeated fellow WWE legend Randy Orton.
