John Cena Reveals Why He Hated Hulk Hogan

In a revelation that has shocked wrestling fans worldwide, WWE superstar and Hollywood actor John Cena has finally opened up about his rocky past with wrestling legend Hulk Hogan — and the reason behind their long-rumored tension is even more personal than fans expected.

In a recent interview on the “GrappleTalk” podcast, Cena didn’t hold back when asked about his real feelings toward the iconic Hulkster.

“There was a time I genuinely hated Hulk Hogan,” Cena admitted. “Not the character. Not the legend. The man. And it wasn’t easy to come to terms with.”

The shocking statement comes after years of speculation surrounding the two wrestling icons’ on-and-off relationship behind the scenes. While both were seen together at WWE events and even appeared cordial in public, fans have long noticed the lack of real camaraderie between the two — especially when compared to Cena’s relationships with other legends like The Rock or Stone Cold Steve Austin.

So what fueled the bad blood?

“It wasn’t about ego or the spotlight,” Cena explained. “It was about respect — or the lack of it. When I was coming up, I looked to Hogan as a blueprint for what being a WWE superstar meant. But behind the curtain, things were different. He didn’t exactly roll out the red carpet for the new generation.”

According to Cena, early backstage encounters with Hogan were “cold and dismissive,” with Hogan allegedly viewing Cena as “a threat” to his legacy.

“It hurt, because I was one of the guys keeping the company alive in the mid-2000s. I wasn’t trying to erase his legacy. I was trying to build mine — and honor his in the process.”

Despite the friction, Cena says time — and maturity — changed his perspective.

“Look, I don’t carry hate anymore. We’re two very different people from two very different eras. I’ve made peace with it, and I hope he has too.”

While Hogan has yet to publicly respond to Cena’s comments, fans are already debating whether this long-standing rift could lead to a final, face-to-face confrontation — perhaps even on WWE television.

Whether or not that ever happens, one thing’s for sure: the truth is finally out, and it’s shaken the foundation of wrestling’s old guard.
