The case of the disappearance of Ukrainian tourist Igor Komarov (28) in Bali has finally reached a breakthrough. The Bali Regional Police have arrested a suspect believed to be involved in both the kidnapping and murder of the victim.
The suspect is Chukwuebuka Gabrie Nkemegbunam (33), a Nigerian national. During intensive questioning by investigators, the man was said to have played a significant role in the series of criminal events that befell Komarov.
The arrest marks a major development in the case that previously shocked the public after human body parts were discovered along the coast of Ketewel Beach in Gianyar.
Police investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly rented a vehicle and a villa in the Tabanan area using a false identity.
The villa is now strongly suspected of being the location where the victim was held captive. According to information from internal police sources, the place was used to detain and possibly torture Igor before he was allegedly killed.
Investigators then matched the suspect’s statements with various pieces of evidence, including CCTV recordings and digital transactions related to the rental of the car and villa.

CCTV Footage Reveals Suspicious Activity
Surveillance camera recordings have become one of the key clues in uncovering the case.
From the CCTV footage examined by investigators, several foreign nationals were seen entering and leaving the villa rented by the suspect.
Testimonies from local residents have also strengthened suspicions of unusual activity at the location in the days before Igor was reported missing.
These findings have led police to believe that the kidnapping likely involved a group or criminal network.
The case became even more horrifying after members of the public discovered human body parts along the coast of Ketewel Beach in Gianyar Regency.
Several physical characteristics found, including a tattoo similar to the one owned by Igor Komarov, led police to suspect that the remains may belong to the victim.
However, authorities are still being cautious before officially confirming the victim’s identity.
A forensic team from Prof. Ngoerah General Hospital, together with Bali Regional Police, is currently conducting scientific analysis to verify the identity of the body parts.
