TODAY host Savannah Guthrie shared a heartbreaking video on social media on Wednesday.
UPDATE (2/7/26):
On Saturday evening, Savannah Guthrie was once again joined by her siblings to share a video asking for the safe return of their mother, Nancy Guthrie.
The brief message was in response to a second alleged ransom letter the family received on Friday.
“We received your message, and we understand,” Savannah Guthrie said in the latest video. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”
Police say they have received more than 1000 tips, but still don’t have a suspect in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.

Authorities continue to ask anyone with information to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL- FBI. A $50,000 reward is available to anyone offering information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie “and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”
UPDATE (2/5/26):
Camron Guthrie, brother of Savannah Guthrie, issued a video plea to those responsible for the disappearance of their mother, Nancy Guthrie. Nancy went missing from her Tucson, Arizona, home on Sunday, February 1.
Camron’s video was posted to Savannah’s Instagram account moments after the first of two deadlines mentioned in a ransom note passed.
“Whoever is out there holding our mother, we want to hear from you. We haven’t heard anything directly. We need you to reach out, and we need a way to communicate with you so we can move forward. But first we need to know that you have our mom. We want to talk to you and we are waiting for contact,” Camron said in the video.
The family received ransom notes via at least three news outlets earlier this week. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department reported that the notes included two deadlines. One of those deadlines was 5:00 p.m. local time on Thursday (2/5). The second is on Monday at an unspecified time.

ORIGINAL STORY:
More than three days have passed since Nancy Guthrie, mother of TODAY Show anchor Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing. The 84-year-old was allegedly abducted from her Tuscon, Arizona, home in the early hours of Sunday morning, February 1.
Savannah has asked for prayers via statements in recent days, but her video appearance on Wednesday is the first time she has spoken out about the situation. In the video, she is joined by her brother and sister as they plead for Nancy’s safe return.
“The light is missing from our lives,” Annie Guthrie said. “We are always going to be merely human. Just normal human people who need our mom. Momma? If you’re listening, we need you to come home. We miss you.”

Savannah added that their mother is “fragile” and “lives in constant pain.”
“She is without any medicine. She needs it to survive. She needs it not to suffer.”
The news anchor then addressed the alleged ransom notes that were sent to media outlets on Tuesday, and said that the family is ready to talk.
“We too have heard the reports about a ransom letter in the media. As a family, we are doing everything that we can. We are ready to talk. However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know, without a doubt, that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen.”
She ended the video with a message for her mom.
“Please reach out to us. Mommy? If you are hearing this, you are a strong woman. You are God’s precious daughter, Nancy. We believe and know that even in this valley, He is with you. Everyone is looking for you, mommy, everywhere. We will not rest – your children will not rest until we are together again. We speak to you every moment, and we pray without ceasing. And we rejoice in advance for the day that we hold you in our arms again. We love you, Mom.”
What Is Known About The Ransom Note
The Guthrie family’s statement suggests that the ransom notes received by multiple media outlets are being possibly legitimate.
As previously reported, several news outlets received ransom notes, including TMZ and Tucson’s KOLD, among others. The notes were turned over to the FBI who “analyzed the letter and are taking it seriously.”
The FBI has declined to share specifics of the note, but say that it “contained specific details about the home and what Nancy Guthrie was wearing that night,” CBS reported.
KOLD anchor Mary Coleman appeared on CNN’s Erin Burnett Outfront on Wednesday, to discuss the note her newroom received, saying, “There are a few things that we can share as far as what the contents were. A lot of it is information that only someone who is holding her for ransom would know — some very sensitive information and things that people who were there when she was taken captive would know.”
Coleman called those details “concerning,” saying that they immediately sent the information to the sheriff’s departement who responded in search of details about the IP address the email was sent from.
The reporter also shared that the ransom letter included a dollar amount, a deadline, and “other specifics that only Guthrie’s abductor might know, so that definitely raised some red flags.”
TMZ shared similar information, saying that the note they received demanded millions in Bitcoin cryptocurrency with directions to send the ransom to a specific Bitcoin address. The outlet also said that the letter included a deadline, “and an element of ‘or else.’”
