Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is a bonafide superstar and has accumulated a career’s worth of accolades during his short time in the NFL.

But before he was an NFL superstar he was leading the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the Big 12. Any success the Chiefs have had and the Red Raiders enjoyed during his time is due in no small part to the remarkable play of Mahomes. Mahomes has enjoyed a tremendous amount of success at a young age, but “young” is a relative term. Mahomes celebrates his 29th birthday.

Mahomes has entered his seventh season in the NFL and has achieved things that many players don’t ever achieve in an entire career. Mahomes has set himself apart from the rest of the league by breaking most quarterback records that are measured before a player reaches 30 years old.

And he still has almost a full season to go before reaching that mark. Mahomes is on the cusp of another feat – one that no player, or team, has ever accomplished. That’s winning three straight Super Bowls.

Kansas City is 2-0 early in the NFL schedule, beating two teams that they could meet again in the playoffs. Mahomes has played well but hasn’t had to carry his team this season as many stars emerge on both sides of the ball.
